Joris Docter
CEO
Joris has a long financial background and worked for major companies such as Philips and ING. He founded the company together with Chema and Vlad in 2014. His main responsibilities are the operational side of development as well as the user experience.
Chema Valle
CTO
Chema had been working in computer engineering for years before founding Gekko with Vlad and Joris. He is an extremely experienced mobile developer and has been working in game development in the past. Within Gekko his role as CTO requires him to manage all parts of development. But he still has a special place in his heart for UX and mobile development.
Vlad Lep
Technical Advisor
Vlad founded Gekko together with Joris and Chema in 2014. He was CTO for over 4 years. In 2020, Vlad decided to take a step back and no longer work on a day to day basis. However, he still is very much involved in Gekko as both a founder and a technical advisor to the company.
Tudor Paun
Lead Developer
Tudor started as a junior developer at Gekko in 2015. He became lead developer in 2020 and has build most of the infrastructure that Gekko uses.
Xavier Domingo
Senior Mobile Developer
Xavi has ample experience in IT consultancy area. Before joining Gekko he worked for one of the major IT consultancy agencies. At Gekko he has multiple responsibilities but is mainly focused on the Android applications.
Julius Heyning
CCO
Julius joined Gekko in 2018 after setting up his own startup and working for different startup and scale-ups. Julius is responsible for the strategy and substantially growing the Gekko user base, besides managing the external partnerships. He loves to connect with you on LinkedIn.
Roger Ruiz
Junior Developer
Roger started working for Gekko as intern when still completing his studies as a software engineer. After completing his thesis on applications of machine learning, he joined Gekko as a Junior Developer.
Alejandro del Río
Senior Developer
Alejandro has long experience in web development as consultant for start-up and large companies across a range of industries. At Gekko he is mostly focused on the frontend and usability aspects of the web application.
Dennis van Rooij
Customer Experience Manager
Dennis joined Gekko after his studies in International Business. His focus within Gekko is to optimize the user experience that entrepreneurs get on the Gekko network.
Marina Stancu
Student Developer
ICT & Software Engineering student, working on full-stack development for the Gekko web application.
Yasmine Seijmonsbergen
Student Customer Experience
Yasmine is a law student who works for Gekko part time. In this role she both provides support to Gekko users by advising how to best use Gekko. And she provides feedback to the development team on improvements.
Alina Baciu
Student Developer
Alina is an Information Studies master student, working part-time for Gekko. Her interest lies in working with data science and software development, integrating both fields in an effective manner. Her role focuses on full-stack development, contributing to Gekko’s website application.
Our offices
Gekko is headquartered in Amsterdam with our offices located very close to the Spui square and to the exit of Rokin station of metro 52.
Our branch in Barcelona is located just next to the market of Sant Antoni and its L2 metro line stop.
We always enjoy having people over for a cup a coffee, but do call ahead :)
